Heritage plaster repair and restoration
As heritage plasterers, we are proud in providing conservation and restoration services in all areas.
Classic Plasterwork are experienced in working with Heritage & Conservation Managers within Grade I, II* & II listed buildings.
We are happy to work directly with you, your own architect, project manager or interior designer.
Conservation & Restoration
Our team can produce mouldings to match existing either from our workshop or if required running in-situ on site using traditional methods. Damaged areas can be repaired and if needed moulds can be produced to reinstate missing ornament.
Design & Modelling
Our in house modeller has the ability to reproduce elements that have been damaged beyond repair or lost through time. With the use of clay, plaster or wax, models can be produced to allow for moulds to be made and the desired casts taken.
We have the ability to work closely with the client, architects and main contractors to produce designs that work in balance to the intended building or room. From full ceiling designs to elegant roses.
We offer paint removal from; cornices, ceiling roses and other historic plasterwork that through time and over painting have lost the detail of their original intention.
Most buildings we have been involved with have suffered through time, due to the use of inappropriate materials. Using lime in traditional construction can allow the building to breathe through its ability to let moisture pass through without trapping it within.
There are a variety of lime mortars, renders and plasters available and each when specified correctly can meet the needs required to provide a sustainable solution to any building
We work with clients to ascertain the extent of information that will be required before carrying out a full condition survey and report on lath & plaster and fibrous plasterwork.
Initial inspections will help understand the extent of survey needed and to highlight any immediate concerns.
What Our Clients Say
'I have worked with Steven Hedges since first purchasing my Victorian home in the summer of 1996. Steven has been responsible for replacing all the coving in the house as well as a myriad of projects over the years, culminating in a complete overhaul in 2011. The workmanship has always been first class and is often commented upon by guests.
I would not hesitate in recommending Classic Plasterwork if you have a project that requires authentic quality coving applied with care and attention to detail.'
